How does SMEB Cube work?
- Retailer registers with SMEB for the service.
- SMEB KYB/AML check the customer and approve them.
- Customer is then issued with a unique Customer ID and a unique PIN
- Customer goes to the Kiosk and inputs the ID and PIN.
- Customer places the funds in the kiosk.
- Device checks notes for counterfeit and fitness, returning any unfit notes to the customer.
- Customer then confirms total amount and funds are deposited.
- Funds are transferred to the customer/SME.
What are the main benefits over Bank Hub or the Post Office?
- No queues, at the Post Office you may have to queue for some time.
- At the Bank Hub you can only go on certain days to match your bank.
- Bank hub is a partially manned service as is the Post Office.
- Bank hub and Post Office close early and so you cannot go at the end of the day.
- Bank hub and Post Office take up to 3 days to credit the funds to your account.
- Speed – SMEB Cube is same day credit.
- Security – SMEB Cube is a device approved by the European Central Bank and so reliable. Our customer service team them monitor the device 24×7 to ensure it is working 99.7% of the time.
How do SMEs know the funds have been deposited correctly?

Do I need to set up another bank account for this to work?
No SMEB will provide you with a SMEB bank account to make the whole process fast secure and safe.
How do I select the account where the money will be paid?
This is setup when we onboard the retailer.
Does the customer have to download any apps?
No all the customer has to do is initiate the process at the SMEB Cube.
What is the benefit to me the retailer?

What are the costs?
Depending on your business volume the fees are set.
What if the payment does not work?
We suggest you make two attempts using the device, if that fails then please contact our customer support centre.
How do I change my PIN if lost or forgotten?
Please contact our customer support desk on 01256 381400 and ask for a new PIN to be issued.
Is this for all bank notes?
Yes our SMEB Cube can handle all UK notes including Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Will I get some reports so I can reconcile my bank statement?

How do I pay the fees?
We will ask for a Bank Direct Debit; you will complete the form during onboarding authorising us to take funds. We will again provide full transparent reporting on this.
Is this service reliable?
This service is approved by the UK government and is 100% secure. Our service is more reliable than the bank devices as we monitor 24×7 and guarantee a 97.5% service level.
Is there any fraud potential?
No as the SMEB Cube checks for counterfeit notes and badly worn notes to standards set by the European Central Bank.
